If the bearing exhibits excessive runout or vibration, disassemble and re-press it following the same procedure, ensuring all surfaces are clean and properly lubricated.

Post-Press-Fitting Maintenance and Handling

Proper handling and storage of pressed assemblies are critical to maintaining their integrity before installation. Store half-axle assemblies in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Avoid stacking assemblies horizontally, as this can deform the bearings or shift components out of alignment.

Protecting Bearings During Transport

When transporting pressed assemblies, use protective covers or caps to shield the bearings from dust, moisture, and physical damage. For long-term storage, apply a rust-inhibiting coating to the shaft and bearing surfaces to prevent corrosion.
